As a text-based roleplaying game, there are two primary methods to connect. The first is using the ancient and wondrous protocol known as “telnet”. This is supported through most MUSH/MUCK clients as well as raw command-line telnet. Simply point your client at 45.55.134.56 using port 4000 and follow the instructions provided.
PLEASE NEVER USE A PASSWORD THAT MATTERS TO YOU ON THIS SERVICE!
Telnet is an unencrypted protocol. You don’t want anyone to capture your bank or email password if they happen to be listening in. We will offer an encrypted connection option when we can, but even then, this is a game, don’t trust us with your jewels. Thank you.
For clients, might we recommend one of:
-
Beipmu is probably the best windows option. It works under WINE for some of us reasonably well.
-
Qmud is a multiplatform recreation of the venerable windows MUSHclient. It may still have some teething pains but the developer has been quite responsive to feedback.
-
Mudlet doesn’t have an auto-login that works with our sever, but it works fairly well in other regards.
-
TinyFugue is the traditional command-line *nix client, with all the learning curve that that entails. But take a look at that release date. You would have to jump through some hoops (or perhaps these hoops) to get it to work with Unicode, which our server requires.
For ‘raw telnet’ you can always fall back to your trusty command line.

You may now be able to connect via domain name! ccstories.twosune.net!
For a more modern experience, or if you don’t have a dedicated client available, you can connect via webclient hosted on the server itself. Navigate to ccstories.twosune.net:4001 and click on “Play in the browser!”
